Fidelity fund contributions deferral and discounts

Information about the deferral or discount of the fidelity fund contribution from 2020/21

The fidelity fund fee for both 2020/21 and 2021/22 will appear on your payment summary when you apply for your practising certificate.

When you make payment for your application you will need to pay both fees.

If you submitted your application and paid your fidelity fund contribution before 30 May 2020 you are eligible for a 5% discount on this year’s fidelity fund fee. Your discount will be automatically applied when you access the payment summary in LSB Online.

If the discount has not been applied you can contact a member of our staff via the lawyer enquiry form and select 'Practising certificate' and ‘Renewing my practising certificate’ as the category.

No, the fidelity fund contribution is the responsibility of the organisation, not the individual. However, if this fee appears on your renewal this year you can contact us via the lawyer enquiry form to have this removed from your payment summary before submitting your application for renewal. Select ‘Practising certificate’ and ‘Renew my practising certificate’ as the category on the lawyer enquiry form. Once this has been removed you can complete your application.

You don’t need to do anything.

You can refer these lawyers to us if they have any questions using the lawyer enquiry form. They should select ‘Practising certificate’ and ‘Renew my practising certificate’ as the category.

There are different fee requirements for Victorian lawyers, foreign lawyers and approved barristers’ clerks. Exemptions apply, please see the Fidelity Fund page for details.
